For students who are keen to apply for the internship program (Sponsored Research/Project Opportunity) and graduating students who are interested in a post graduate program, please see the following details on the programs below :

 

(A)Sponsored Undergraduate Research Attachment Programme 

This award gives Third-Year Students the opportunity to participate in a research/project work at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE), National University of Singapore (NUS), during the summer vacations, in one of the following fields:

o   Communications & Networks Control,

o   Intelligent Systems & Robotics

o   Integrated Circuits & Embedded Systems

o   Microelectronic Technologies & Devices

o   Microwave & RF

o   Signal Processing & New Media

o   Power & Energy Systems

 

Eligibility

Candidates may apply for the award/program if the following criteria is satisfied:

1.       Current Year 3 student who has achieved excellent academic standing and

2.       Keen to pursue further studies or be involved in research work after graduation and

3.       Fluent in spoken and written English

 

Terms of Award

Each award covers:

1.       Stipend of S$1,200/- per student

(passage to and from Singapore is payable out of this)

2.       Shared accommodation

3.       NUS fees paid by NUS ECE – approximately S$1,000

(covered under sponsorship & inclusive of health & insurance scheme on campus)

 

Candidates are required to note that the application for student’s pass (S$90), medical check/immunizations, meals, travel insurance and other miscellaneous expenses are not covered by the award. The current exchange rate is around $1 : 15,000 VND

Closing dates and Timeline for the program

 

Candidates are required to submit their application forms and supporting materials by the deadline of 31^st January 2012.

The tentative timeline for 2012 is as follows:

 

January	Students to submit application to Department
February	Department will review applications, confirm projects and arrange for accommodation
March	Student will be informed of application result, decide whether to accept offer, book air ticket and get ready the supporting documents
Early Apr	Students to apply online through NUS system (managed by Registrar’s Office)
July - August	Research/Project @ ECE

 

How to complete the application forms

 

Candidates are required to complete the attached application form. Any omission of information required in the application forms or supporting documents will render the application void and should be avoided. Please complete the application form in English. All supporting documents, if not in English, must be accompanied by copies of the English translation of the documents. The following supporting documents are to be attached to the application forms :

 

q  Current academic transcripts

q  Academic recommendation letters x 2

q  Previous academic records (e.g. High School graduation examinations)

q  Letter from Home University (certifying that applicant is a current student registered with the University)            

q  TOEFL/IELTS scores or recommendation letter

q  Co-curricular activities records, if any

q  Previous awards/certificates/testimonials received, if any

 

(For Student’s Pass)          

q  Travel document/passport details

q  Recent passport-sized color photographs
